Helmut Newton - eye candy

I have always been a fan of Helmut Newton, particularly the less "G" rated images, although I didn't want to show them here, as my blog is generally pretty family friendly. But his mastery of light and the sensuality with which he depicts his fetishistic subject is so elegant and beautiful.

There are lots of great books of his work and definitely worth having on the coffee table (although perhaps after the kiddies go to bed).

the plummer/kennedy conspiracy

I love "real" photography that tells a story, rather than being a perfectly airbrushed and plastic images of how women think they need to look from the majority of glossy mags.
Billy Plummer and Michael Kennedy have capture beachy chic in these delightful portraits taken on Manly Beach as part of the Festival of Surf this past weekend.
Random subject were selected photographed, then overnight the images were printed and appeared in the morning on the walls of the Steyne Hotel and The Wharf Hotel.
To view the full collection visit the Consipiracy Theory website in a few days once they have had time to process the bnearly 2000 images taken over the four days or pop into the hotels in Manly where they will be on display. Sponsored by mesurf.com.au.

Devon Aoki + Sebastian Kim

Sebastian Kim shot the latest cover for Numero Toyko, working with Katie Mossman and the doll-like Devon Aoki.  Please click here for the hauntingly beautiful story! Totally dreamy.
