I’m Still Beautiful: Concert & Fashion Show to Benefit Cancer Survivors: March 3, 2011

Could you imagine a greater cause for a concert and fashion show!?! The third annual I’m Still Beautiful concert and fashion show will take place March 3, 2011 at 7:00 PM at Mercy Lounge. A $10 minimum donation is required at the door and proceeds from the event will benefit I’m Too Young For This! Cancer Foundation, a global organization solely created to provide resources and support to cancer survivors aged late teens through thirties, particularly through the use of music and the arts. Featured bands include Kopecky Family Band, Run With Bulls, Holley Maher, The Features, and a DJ set by Electric Western. Fashions include styles by Charles Lord, Olia Zavozina, Gabriel Max Starner, and more.

Closet Case Vintage On Point For Spring/Summer 2012

The garments featured on Closet Case Vintage may be period pieces, but it looks like they’re ahead of the pack. While browsing through the CCV etsy site today, I noticed many of the items correlate with Pantone’s color trends for Spring/Summer 2012. (And yes, I did say 2012.)

One of the first color trends we’re going to see for Spring/Summer 2012 is California Sundrenched. As detailed on WGSN, Women’s knits will feature decorative touches with retro patterns to add a youthful and kitsch feel to summer vintage looks that exude 1950’s California glamour. WGSN says, “Seduced by nostalgic visions of deluxe motel living and a Palm Springs fantasy lifestyle, this Cinematic knitwear trend evokes images of American society types draped on poolside loungers, sumptuous cocktails in hand, dressed to thrill.” Pantone colors include golden yellow, mint, fruity orange, coral reds, hazy pink, and inky purple. As detailed on WGSN, this occasionwear collection features “Dented, moulded, lasered, and rubberised trashy materials share space with the sheerest, shiniest, luxury fabrics, while enjoying the same treatments of relief and transfer printing, taping and graphic appliqué.” Pantone colors for this look include a palette of neon pink, yellow, and green with highlights of putty, black, and metallic lead.
